Today I had my yearly physical. My last one was two years ago….so overdue. ooops. All my labs were good except my blood glucose level. Klaas has the same trouble. We are both borderline diabetic due to our lifestyle. That is the doctors nice way of saying we are both too fat. Yah, we have hit the wall with indulging each other with favorite foods. Now it is time to get back to a healthy eating. (more on that in later posts) My doctor also said there is new protection for whooping cough and I should have the injection. 
Ok, no problem….in my left arm. Later when I was home, I got a phone call from the nurse who said, “how would you like a shot today?” I said I already had one! She told me she gave me the wrong one. ohhhhhhhhh, I said, what did I get then???? I got the booster shot for Hep A. It won’t hurt me. I said, I did not want to return today but tomorrow I would give them my right arm then.

Jeez…you were lucky that they ‘just’ gave you a Hep. A vaccin instead of something that could have harmed you. I would have been so pissed, weren’t you??

I have had a few dreadful experiences with American health care -and when I say dreadful, I mean it in an EXTREME sense! Getting the wrong injection, even if it is a harmless vaccin, is bad enough, but it could have been worse! I know this… I don’t know if you have been back to get the right injection yet, but if not, then I suggest you take the opportunity to get even… Why not bring a sharpened pencil?

Sam and I will join you soon. I think our lifestyle in sweden has a potential to be dangerous. Fikas and cafes with bakeries every day. We better start that diet right away before it’s gone too far…
